Finca Caprinamá

Miscellaneous Projects

Miscellaneous Projects is an ongoing line of work where I approach people, communities, farmers, artisans, and local initiatives to better understand the manual processes, knowledge, and stories behind what they do.

I do these visits to understand how people work with their hands, how knowledge is passed within families and communities, and how local initiatives create value from what they know, grow, build, and share.

Finca Caprinama is part of Eco Fincas Turísticas Capireñas de la Cuenca del Canal, a community-based organization connected to agrotourism and rural experiences in Panama. Located in Capira, the farm is certified as an agrotourism farm.

“At Finca Caprinama, the land is not presented as a backdrop, but as a shared space of work, learning, and family memory.” - John, Owner.

John’s approach reflects a belief that rural tourism can be more than a visit: it can become a way to teach, involve the community, and preserve local knowledge through direct experience.

Through this visit, I explored a place where agriculture, tourism, education, and community participation come together. Rather than documenting a finished product, these images observe a living process: the relationship between people and land, the value of rural knowledge, and the role of community-based tourism as a way to share, preserve, and sustain local practices.
